The List of Presents for a Funeral: a Cultural Picture of The Intercourse Order Among Affinity 【Summary 】This thesis thoroughly and detailedly analyzes a list of presents for a funeral. The view of the thesis is that the list of presents for a funeral ,as a kind of folk documents, is recorded for convenience of the intercourse among affinity but what it reflects is quite plentiful. Not only does the list of presents display the net of relatives regarding the dead as a center in people’s minds, but also it is a vivid description of the intercourse order among affinal relations. It clearly illustrates the order among affinity ——the relation with sequence through the value and index of the presents. The relation with levels is in accordance with the content and value, that is they can explain each other. The relation among the groups decides the value and the moving direction of the presents, in the same way, the value and the moving direction of the presents also differentiates the relation among the groups. Generally speaking, a person familiar with country lives can exactly decides what level the person offering the present is in the levels of relatives through the amount of money and different offer.
