②“New Medievalism”与“New Middle Ages”两个有区别的概念，按照王云龙教授的研究，“New Medievalism”历史学论域，应译为“新中世纪学”，在政治学论域，应译为“新中世纪化”，在公共性论域，应译为“新中世纪性”。（见王云龙。西方学术界关于“New Medievalism”的三个论域[J].北方论丛，2007（5）。）新中世纪学指的是后现代中世纪史学，“New Middle Ages”是指对中世纪的全新看法和观念，因而也包括新中世纪学呈现出的新中世纪观。
