意大利城市政治体制与权力空间的演变(1000—1600)(8)

当今,人们把艺术主要视为纯粹审美的事物。但历史地来看,艺术从来都是多功能的,被用来满足各种不同的需求和目的,政治表达便是其中之一。在研究这一时期意大利城市的政治制度和政治文化时,应该注意的是,无论世俗的还是宗教性的公共建筑都并非单纯的房屋,城市的各类统治者用它们建构权力,在这里行使权力,也通过它们表达和宣示权力,这些建筑的命运总与权力的兴衰更迭息息相关。
