目前对生产组织形式的研究也过于宏观。学者们讨论的多是区域性的石器、玉器加工群体。实际上，我国史前大量的经过完整揭露的聚落遗址为我们以单个聚落为研究对象，通过系统分析聚落内部与手工业生产相关的遗迹、遗物分布情况，获得关于专业化生产的各种信息，提供了便利条件。对产品的分配和消费的研究同样需要微观化。
    总之，利用中国丰富的考古学资料，借鉴西方的理论和方法，加强理论在研究中的指导作用，加强注重认识特殊性的个案研究，手工业生产专业化的考古学研究必将在我国取得更大进展，并为认识中国文明起源提供新的视角。
